Veggies, Flowers, and IF
Bring on the snap peas, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes! Since we can't grow grass, Chris thought he'd try growing veggies. So far so good! I'll let you know how they taste...
In our grassless yard we also have flowers. And though one might suspect I planned these to be Hook'em themed I did not!
Apparently Mazie does not appreciate her yards additions. As you can see she is trying to escape. It's not that she wants to leave us as much as she wants to live with Keith. Once before she chewed through our picket fence to get to his house. She is nuts!
And for the dreaded IF update, well my ovarian ultrasound showed only one egg (good quality, though) which means the clomid is not working. So, the IUI for this month was cancelled and we will increase the clomid and add HCG next month. Sucks.

Alison June Compagni
Today is my only aunts birthday and my first day as an aunt! Chris's sister introduced a 7 lb 7 oz bundle of joy to the Hayes family. I've already penalized the new Gramma for not having pictures for us, but I hear she has dark hair. Hopefully Chris and I will be able to visit NY in the next couple weeks.
We have a visitor in our home.
While Baileys parents spend two weeks in Australia, she gets to stay with us. The night she came she looked at the door crying for an hour...it was so pitiful. She finally calmed down, but during that night Chris woke up to her crying downstairs. He went down and layed with her for an hour and from that morning on they were best friends! She is very sweet and full on energy!

IF Update
When I called Cindy, our fertility nurse, to tell her of this months BFN, she told me she was increasing the Clomid and to proceed as usual. I was so confused. My understanding of Clomid is that it aids in ovulation, something I thought I did just fine on my own. So, after talking to Chris, who was confused as well, we decided to meet with the doctor for some clarification. So on Friday we did just that.
When we were undergoing initial fertility testing I had an ovarian ultrasound and the doctor said everything looked great including my egg quality. Well, apparently one egg is only good enough for someone without fertility issues. My doctor is increasing the Clomid in hopes of me producing up to four eggs. Apparently, I either have an understanding problem or my doctor has an explaining problem because I also was under the impression that my sole or at least main problem was a small cervical opening. Turns out she thinks that while I do have this issue it is not my main problem. The problem is, as it is for most people, unidentified infertility.
So, the plan is as follows. We are doing another ovarian ultrasound this month to see how many eggs I have on 100mg of Clomid. Then we will proceed with the third IUI. Of course, it is going to work this time! But, being the planner that I am, I have to think of what’s next. My doctor gave us some options and this is what we decided…we would do an additional two rounds of IUI with a new variety of oral drugs before moving onto IUI with a different class of injectable drugs. To sum it up we would give it six more rounds before considering IVF. I am certain that we will not get that far!

not so noteworthy news
I am officially 2/3 the way done with my MSN program. Only one semester to go. Thank God! This weekend was my first weekend not doing homework in many months. I never thought I'd be approaching my 30th birthday still doing homework. Speaking of that, Chris and I have decided to go to Hawaii for our B-days (his is 2 days before mine). As it stands, we will be going to Oahu and Maui. On our way back we plan to stop in Austin. For one, Chris has never seen this wonderful city. For two, we are exploring cities we may move to after his chief year. We each picked one to look at: Austin and Columbus. These, of course, are the cities we each went to college in. Also on the list is Raleigh and staying put here in the Richmond area.
Since, we are headed to the beach in less than a month I am attempting to work out more and eat better...is it even possible to get into bikini shape in a month? I already slipped today, instead of going to the gym I made cookies!
Chris plans to drive his car until it no longer drives or until he finishes his chief year. Wanting to be prepared in the event we need to buy a car quickly, we went car shopping this weekend. We looked at Hondas and Saturns. Particularly, CRV's and VUE's. We also looked at a Saturn Outlook but it was probably a bit big for our needs at this time. No decisions made but at least we have a clue.
