O & E : 15 and 16 months

15 Months
Owen
He's currently our wild child.  He has no fear and, well, no sense.  He will just walk off a step/dropoff without looking down or remotely trying to aid himself in the transfer.  It makes for a lot of running to the rescue on our part.

Owen will look right at me and talk complete gibberish in full sentences.  It's as if he thinks he's completely making sense.  He also says 'mama', 'dada', 'quack', 'this', and 'hello'.

He loves, loves, loves to ride in our neighbors Radio Flyer, and he's obsessed with trikes and bikes that he's not big enough for.

He loves getting up close and personal with farm animals (or any animal for that matter).

He gets so excited for his morning cup of milk.  Once he's finished he tries, and often succeeds, stealing his brothers.

Ethan
He LOVES reading books.  This was sudden onset love.  One day he just started bringing us books and sitting in our laps.  If something or someone is in our laps he just pushes it/him aside or sits on top of it/him.  Or if we're standing he just sits on the floor like 'sit here with me'.  I love that he loves to read.

He says 'thanks' every time we give him something or help him.  It's so adorable.  He also says 'mama', 'dada', 'yes', 'hello', 'hi', and I think 'night night'.

He loves our neighbors new cat, Molly.  Molly comes right up to the kids and allows them to pet her.  He thinks she's terrific.  He also seems particularly intrigued with dogs.

He always takes at least one shoe off in the car.  Speaking of shoes, both boys get so excited when we put their shoes on.  They run straight to the door.  It's so out of control that we now wait until the last second to get their shoes on.

16 Months
Owen
He's often my little helper.  He closes the pantry and refrigerator doors.  Shows his brothers where they should be when I say things like, "to the table" or "lets change your diaper."  He will show you where his dirty diapers go (the garage) or where trash goes, stuff like that.

He loves to clap for himself.

He's added 'done', 'Nonna', 'thanks', and 'night night' to his vocabulary.

He knows the meaning of no, but ignores the word as if he's deaf.  Drives me bonkers!

Ethan often takes toys from Owen.  Owen sometimes lets him take the toy and other times cries at the theft.  One morning he decided to take matters into his own hands and BITE his brother.  I couldn't believe it.  He left teeth marks!  So far this was a one time incident.

Ethan
Seriously, this kid has a stealing problem.  It doesn't stop with Owen, he steals Ryan's toys too.  This drives me CRAZY.

He loves digging in the dirt.  Sure, what boy doesn't?  But he has a particular fondness for the dirt.  We've created a makeshift digging area on the side of our house.  It's perfect for the boys.

He just discovered a fascination for shoes.  His shoes, his brothers shoes, Nonna's shoes, any shoes.  He will sit and try putting them on.  He also will point to peoples shoes and make an excited squeal.  It's pretty darn cute.

He's added 'Nonna' and 'done' to his vocab.  And probably more that I can't recall.

They continue to copy everything.  They can even ride Ryan's scooter, albeit not the safest idea.  They eat adult portions of food.  It's insane.  I'm already fearing how much they will eat as teenagers.  They are so darn affectionate, and, of course, I'm loving it.  Overall, they are happy boys and I'm a lucky mama!

RYAN - First Day of '3 year old' Preschool

The faces of Ryan...
 my personal fav...

 "are we don't yet?"

Ryan was excited to get back to preschool.  He knew his teachers names and was ready to see, as he put it, "some old friends and some new friends."  He's a parents dream on first days.  He kissed me goodbye and never looked back.  He had a great first day!
