Once Again

Remember this from January:

I wouldn’t say Chris is a perfectionist, yet he seems to naturally excel at all he attempts. Well, recently he submitted an abstract to the American College of Physicians (ACP) and its only natural he was selected to present at the ACP conference. He returns tonight…woo hoo!

Well, I neglected to follow-up. Little did I know the presentation was a competition. Yep. He won his division. He is heading to the DC area to present once again. Good luck honey!

On another note, my mom will be here this weekend for the big race. The bad news is it is suppose to rain! Yuck. Also, my doctor has advised me not to run the race. Of course, now we will never know who would have won- mom or me. I guess this means another race is in our future!

Many for Jenny

Jennifer Davis Langston was a special person who was taken from us too soon. I am running to raise money for cancer research in her memory. Please help me make Jenny's memory stand out in this race.

This means a lot to me and to Jenny's parents. Please help me make Team Many for Jenny a success. Click here to donate!

Practice Makes Perfect

A perfect baby that is....ok, well not yet. But it will!

To post or not to post? I debated for awhile and just decided to go for it. For some it may be TMI...you can always skip ahead.

Knowing we wanted children we decided to forgo birth control soon after we married. A year later, with no success, we met with a fertility specialist. Since then I have been poked and prodded in an attempt to dissolve the mystery. Today I underwent a diagnostic laproscopy to check for endometreosis (common cause of infertility). Part of me wanted to be told I had the disease so that I could fix it and move on, however, it was negative.

Though while I was in surgery they did another test to check for patent tubes(check), but the test requires some cervical manipulation and the difficulty of the test combined with the difficulty of a previous similar test, my doctor suspects the problem may be the size of my cervix. The easiest way around this is intrauterine insemination (in other words, skip the fun part). So, now we are in the process of considering this possible step and that's where we stand now.

In an attempt to keep track I have added our IF timeline to the right. Hopefully it won't get any longer. Keep your fingers crossed.

An Oldie

This is a favorite pic of mine, it was taken several years ago at one of Chris's famous annual lake parties. Chris has not hosted a lake party since he began his residency, but is considering a come back this summer. Anyhow, this is Jake the crazy Polock, doing a...well, lets just call it a bartender trick! Girls-remember all those flaming dr. peppers??

V-Day Affair

On Valentines day Chris and I went to Shannon and Dereks wedding. We got to visit Elizabeth, Shannon, Princess, and Munn Queen. All and all we had a good time. Congrats to the happy couple!

This is Princess Anna (Elizabeth's daughter), in case you can't tell, she is dancing.

And here are the big girls dancing...

Schools Out!

Turns out, school being cancelled is just as much fun for teachers as it is for students. Due to a pretty decent amount of snow last night, the school I work for was closed. Virginia is simply not as equipped to clear the snow as we are use to. In fact, when Chris went to work he saw only one vehicle stuck in a ditch, the plow!

Chris went to work only to be sent home. He went outside to sled down our front yard. Shortly afterwards, the neighborhood kids joined him.

And last but not least, here is a video of Emma, aka Tigger...
